It’s the age old adage and yet some people still fall into the exact trap, this week it’s Louise Redknapp and Nadine Coyle.

Nadine was the Irish one from Girls Aloud who was in the jungle a couple of months ago. I thought she came across very well but is largely credited as the reason the group ended and the one most often still heard talking about the band.

GA were woefully managed by Louis Walsh who admitted he had no clue what to do with five girls. However as he tends to favour Irish acts it was Louis who pushed for Nadine to sing the most lines in the songs. Maybe Nadine started to believe the hype that she was the talented one?

It was her who decided to get herself her own manager, separate from the group. It was her who became more ‘diva’ like keeping all the other girls waiting for recordings, arriving late at meetings etc. It was her who moved to LA and it was her who wanted to pursue a solo career and this was the reason for the first hiatus of the group.

The solo album did not take off, perhaps Louis was her biggest fan. The other girls found their new identities and all with greater success than Nadine ended up having.

Since GA did their last tour and announced their final split it is Nadine who appears the one wanting back what she herself instigated in ending.

Louise Redknapp went on Strictly saying her and Jamie were strong and the curse would not bother them, solid after 20 years. She did really well on the show, was supported weekly by her husband, kids, mum and in-laws. Soon after the series ended stories started about her going out with a lot younger Strictly crowd, with lots of photos on Instagram and paparazzi. Then she announced she was leaving her family, after that she filed for divorce citing HIS unreasonable behaviour. She said in numerous interviews she felt like a Stepford Wife, she had missed out on a Friends audition and so many other work opportunities because her life had been stifled and their relationship had irretrievably broken down.

Since being granted her divorce she has pretty much been saying what a lovely guy Jamie is and how she will always love him. Recent interviews to promote her new album have mainly involved her complaining of feeling lonely and we have stopped seeing her with her ‘new friends’ anymore.

I used to really like Lou, thought she was great in Eternal and solo and enjoyed her personality on the cooking show ‘something for the weekend’. That said she has gone down in my book the way she humiliated Jamie; and in some ways she’s now humiliating herself saying that actually everything was pretty wonderful back then!

It is quite sad that they appear to now yearn for what they both were personally responsible for ending by their actions.
